Channing Law is pleased to announce that Jan-Hendrik Burger has joined the team as Senior Counsel.

Jan is a highly experienced finance lawyer, fluent in both English and French, who spent over 15 years at Clifford Chance in London, Paris and Abu Dhabi, developing deep experience and expertise in the financing of complex cross-border projects. Jan is dual qualified in England and Wales and under French law.

During his career at Clifford Chance, Jan advised sponsors, lenders and development finance institutions on the structuring and financing of infrastructure and energy projects across Africa, the Middle East and beyond. He has been recognised by Chambers Global, having advised on landmark cross-border financings, including a sovereign financing for the Republic of Angola and a major corporate financial restructuring.

Jan’s arrival significantly strengthens Channing’s financing and project documentation capability, allowing the team to advise clients across the full lifecycle of a transaction from project agreements through to facility, security and other finance documents.
