WHY CHANNING

The African power sector is challenging and requires a law firm that understands the bankability requirements as well as the political landscape. Much of the legal work depends on navigating through the politics / institutions and being at the forefront of cutting-edge, innovative solutions, rather than “precedent work”. We offer clients a unique combination of:

Africa Market Knowledge: We have acted on projects across Africa.

Expertise: We provide specialist legal advice on energy and infrastructure projects with a particular focus on renewable and clean energy in Africa.

Experience: Years of high quality legal experience obtained at a UK “magic circle” law firm, in-house at a project development company and at Channing Law.

In-house Expertise: In addition to providing clients with “traditional” legal advice and assistance, we also provide in-house legal services.

Competitive Approach to Fees: Channing Law is competitive in its approach to fees. Our headline hourly billing rates and fee caps are significantly lower than typical city law firm rates – we are flexible with our fee arrangements and offer genuine value for money to clients.
